Making the Hidden Seen and Felt with Somatic Coaching

Using the body as a resource for leadership and as a compass for making the right decisions - for more ease and strength

Body-orientated coaching for professionals in positions of responsibility, artists or animal lovers who want more inner clarity, guidance and connection

My name is Susanne Neubauer, PhD, ACC ICF, somatic coach, mindfulness trainer and animal advocate. As a curator and art historian, I have worked with artists for many years. With sensitivity, knowledge and humour, I support people in finding greater connection with themselves.

My very personal approach

I have been working for years with visual artists, with animals and with myself. You too can learn from these sensitive beings. Decide in favour of a life without egoism, but with self-care, an authentic self and therefore a big heart for the world around you. Even if this world of thoughts, ideas, worlds of knowledge and experiences was previously unknown to you, get to know it!

The Calm Field Journey

Somatic coaching just for yourself

In somatic coaching, we focus on what is being expressed and how – with the help of the body. Our body knows the answers and reacts like a seismograph to changes in our environment. Through somatic coaching, we bridge the gap between the inner and outer worlds. We identify patterns that hold us back and make friends with our body so that it can live and breathe freely.

In coaching, we work on the cognitive level and, with ease, on the physical level. Connecting these two levels brings us into a state of unity, for we are both body and mind.

Although I share knowledge about the self-regulation of the nervous system and our organic intelligence, the focus of Somatic Coaching lies in empowering each individual.

On our Calm Field Journey, we are able to move effortlessly from a state of being overwhelmed to a peaceful state of clear self-leadership, and

  • gain inner stability

  • release inner limitations

  • develop a stronger body awareness

  • strengthen our ability to incorporate emotions

  • communicate from a place of inner strength, both personally and professionally

  • gain confidence that embodied leadership functions as co-leading

  • strengthen emotional awareness and empathy in communication and collaboration with others

  • live with ethical and aesthetic sensitivity

  • use the intelligence of nature, which lives within and around us as a unique primal source, as a resource for vitality, life force and self-healing wisdom

‘I've always been fascinated by the body. Without it, I cannot create art. For years, however, my intellect has taken the lead – now that I'm getting older, I find myself wondering how I can live and work in a radically organic way.’

The Calm Field Retreat

An exclusive one-to-one retreat for you and your dog

Location: diverse locations in Switzerland

Animals do not react to what we do. They react to the state we are in.

This retreat does not focus on behaviour, but on the root cause. Over two intensive days, you will learn to change your inner state so that
your dog can take its cue from your calmness – without pressure or control. You will learn the most difficult task of all: communicating with your dog without correcting it.

A retreat just for you, your dog and me.

‘I know that I’m not living life to the full, but am driving with the handbrake on. It pains me deeply, because I know there’s more to life than this. And I realise that my animal mirrors me and shows me the key, but I don’t know where the door is.’

Somatic coaching is a forward-thinking approach that combines coaching, self-assessment, mindfulness training and stress resilience all in one go – sustainably and within a short timeframe.

‘I work with people who are unmotivated, distracted, stressed and irritable – how can I get them back on board?’

What my clients say

‘Susanne is incredibly professional; she has a wealth of in-depth experience and insight. Her decades of work in the art world also make her an excellent mentor for artists, particularly when it comes to transforming old and outdated structures—both on a personal level and in their artistic practice—through somatic coaching.’

Thomas Henke, artist, Germany

For me the coaching IS a perfect and fulfilling experience that will stay with me imparting a profound sense of time, place and experience by furthering my understanding of connections and feelings - not only of one's own perceptions but also how they might connect to rational thought processes when thinking around humanity and our own material existence. A bringing together of the mind and body as a creative act.

The fortunate and almost accidental discovery of Somatic Coaching, together with my personal circumstances; my age and determination, means that my experience with it brings a valuable joy whereby I also become more skilled and able to express my creative spirit.

Charlotte Cullinan, artist, London

I found the work with you so incredibly calming in more ways than I could have expected. It was calming during each session, after, and I have carried it with me so thank you.

There has been lots that resonated after the sessions. Slowing down, taking small windows of time, going lightly, occupying space, taking moments within my space, going with ease, looking for curiosity, looking at myself and others with kind eyes, recognising what is good for my body at one moment, starting small and going into peace with the environment and small and big emotions.

I have tried to take the time to take and hold space for what you have shown me and truly it has been incredibly valuable.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet you and I am sure to see you in London.
